So grab your dice and minis, and get ready for adventure!

Hissani
Hailing from the trade mecca of Purrmata, the Hissani are skilled merchants with an eye for a good deal, whether it be a cut-rate commodity or some information they can leverage to further their social standing.
The Hissani believe in outward displays of their success, preferring to dress in the showiest clothes they can afford. From the noblest of trade barons to the poorest laborer, you can expect to see bright colors and plentiful jewelry, of varying degrees of quality.
The Hissani prize cunning, quick wits, and silver tongues as their highest virtues, and they find many profitable ways to use these skills. This can cause them to come off as arrogant and opportunistic to outsiders, always seeming to be poised to take advantage of a situation. But when they do find true companions, they are loyal and steadfast, willing to ply all of their considerable mental acuity to their friends’ advantage.
Of middling height and physique, the Mauko are distinguished by their wide range of coat colors and patterns, with more variations than any other cat-folk.
Their far reach means that they don’t have a strong central culture themselves. Instead, they often adopt the culture of the area they’ve settled in. They have members of every faith and philosophy across Mewtheria.
Open minded and curious, the Mauko are easy companions and form friendships quickly. They love to learn new skills, often devoting themselves fervently to studying their new passions – until they find their next new passion. These jacks of all trades make for excellent adventurers, as they always seem to know some trick that can help them out of a tough situation.

Hailing from nowhere, the landless Nefari can be found in cities in almost every corner of Mewtheria. Despite this, there are few cat-folk who receive so much distrust from those around them. It’s easy to spot a Nefari. Their fur is the deepest blue-black and their eyes glow in the most peculiar way. Stranger still are their horns and their two tails. The tails more than any other feature is alienating for other cat-folk. The odd movements of their double tails make it difficult for other cats to interpret their body language, causing misunderstandings and adding to the distrust between them.
And so the Nefari tend to keep to themselves. They try to blend into wherever they are living, dressing in the local style in as unobtrusive a way as possible. While they are excellent spell-weavers, they are modest about their own abilities, considering self-aggrandizing to be childish. Better to let your skills speak for themselves, rather than to brag about them.
While not hostile towards others, they tend to view attempts to reach out to them without cause as inherently suspicious. But for those cat-folk who are able to build a bond with a Nefari, they will find that their kindness and loyalty are returned tenfold.

In the northernmost region of Mewtheria, few have the coat to withstand the biting cold winds howling through the treacherous mountain ranges. It’s here that the Paltuun thrive, with stocky builds and fluffy thick coats to keep them warm, thick tails, and large paws to keep them from sinking in the snow. Their settlements are built in mountain caverns, connected by a series of internal roads to avoid traveling in the harsh terrain.
Few merchants travel as far north as the Paltuun settlements, leading them to develop their own crafting skills. They are renowned for their fine craftwork, both mundane and magical, and their smiths are some of the most exceptional in all of Mewtheria.
Self-reliant and perseverant, most Paltuun are direct and earnest in their dealings, having little patience for duplicity or schemes. They value honesty and hard work, and are distrustful of those who avoid either.

Years of dealing with the fae have shaped their culture. Wearing mismatched socks, carrying crusts of bread, lining entryways with salt, and hanging rowan branches are all common practices in Pur’saan villages to keep the fae at bay.
They keep their true names secret, instead relying on nicknames for everyday use. It’s the mark of true friendship and deep trust for a Pur’saan to tell you their true name. They are respectful of nature, after all, who knows what might offend a fae.
Years of fighting dangerous creatures within their homelands has led the Pur’saan to value protecting their clowder above all else. Anyone who befriends a Pur’saan will find themselves with a stalwart defender, no matter the odds against them.

Strygur
Bordered by mountains and dotted with painted hills, the deserts of Litera are a harsh but beautiful place. Here, the Strygur thrive, building their small communities below ground in insulated burrows to avoid the arid heat. They are small in stature and build, with tan or white fur, often marked with dark brown stripes in various patterns.
They love to tell a good story, and many Strygur seek out adventure in the hopes of doing something worthy of a tale. Outside of Litera, Strygur bounty hunters are prized for their skills honed in the desert, and many have found fame in that profession.
Although they are the smallest of the cat-folk, they more than make up for it with their big personalities. Outgoing and bombastic, the Strygur are quick to invite a stranger to their fire or to help a traveler in need. After all, life in the desert is hard, and if you don’t offer a hand to someone in need, then there might be no one to help you. They like to form tightly knit groups, and prefer to travel with loyal friends.

Volynx
Off the Pawaani coast lies Vulksprowl, a massive caldera shrouded in mist at the center of an archipelago. And nestled in communities around the caldera live the Volynx. Relatives of the Hissani, the Volynx can be distinguished from their estranged brethren by their lack of fur, exposing their skin, ranging from pink to deep purple. Coveting warmth, the Volynx elite live the closest to the steaming lake at the center of the caldera, with their social inferiors living up the slopes.
For most Volynx, the cold world outside of their caldera is harsh and unfit for habitation, preferring to stay where they are comfortable. This has led them to isolate themselves, forming an inwardly-focused society with a rigid social structure. Unfortunately, the island’s limited resources mean that periods of scarcity are commonplace and vying for social clout, and the resources that come with it, are cut-throat.
Unique to the caldera are the mega beetles, towering insects the Volynx have cultivated into draft animals, housepets, and mounts. The most fearsome of the Volynx warriors, the Beetle knights, ride them as mounts and arm themselves in armor made from their chitin.
Those few Volynx who do travel beyond the caldera’s shores often seek either resources to bring back or the renown to elevate them to a higher social standing upon their return to the Vulksprowl. Those adventurers looking to make a name for themselves in dangerous ventures couldn’t hope for a better companion than an ambitious and resourceful Volynx, ready to do what it takes to succeed.
